Looking at what’s new in the iNAND Embedded Flash Drives, you’ll notice an improved system responsiveness, ability to store code in one device, and speeding up the process of implementing consolidated boot, of course without bringing a negative effect on the consumer experience.

So, a separate boot device will not be required anymore, and there will be considerable amount of reduction in power consumption, handset design complexity, as well as scarce board space.

SanDisk iNAND EFDs will be available in vivid range of storage capacities, starting with 2GB, ranging up to a mammoth 64GB storage capacity.


There’s no word on pricing or availability as of now.
